Auggie Medical Transportation – Policies & Terms

1. Non-Discrimination Policy

Auggie Medical Transportation is committed to providing safe, respectful, and compassionate transportation services to all individuals.

We do not discriminate on the basis of:

Race

Color

National origin

Religion

Sex or gender identity

Sexual orientation

Disability

Age

Marital status

Medical condition

All passengers are treated with dignity and respect. Our staff and drivers are trained to assist individuals with mobility limitations and special needs while maintaining professionalism and privacy at all times.

2. Booking Policy

To ensure reliable transportation services, the following booking guidelines apply:

All rides must be scheduled through our website or by contacting our office.

When booking a ride, customers must provide:

Pickup location

Destination address

Appointment date and time

Passenger information

Any mobility or assistance needs.

A $20 deposit is required to secure a transportation reservation.

Once a booking request is submitted, confirmation will be sent via email or text message.

Same-day bookings may be accepted based on driver availability.

3. Deposit & Refund Policy

To reserve transportation services, a deposit is required.

A $20 deposit must be paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time will receive a full refund of the deposit.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled ride will result in the deposit being non-refundable.

If Auggie Medical Transportation must cancel a ride due to unforeseen circumstances, the deposit will be fully refunded or applied to a future trip.

4. Cancellation Policy

We understand plans can change. To help us maintain reliable service:

Customers must cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled ride.

Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in limitations on future bookings.

If an appointment runs significantly late, customers should notify our office as soon as possible.

5. Timing & Pickup Policy

Our goal is to provide punctual and dependable service.

Customers should be ready at least 10 minutes before pickup time.

Drivers may arrive within a 15-minute pickup window depending on traffic and scheduling.

Drivers may wait up to 10 minutes at the pickup location before marking the trip as a no-show.

Late arrivals may require rescheduling depending on driver availability.

6. Passenger Safety Policy

The safety of our passengers is our top priority.

All passengers must follow driver safety instructions during transport.

Wheelchairs and mobility devices will be secured according to safety standards.

Drivers are Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid certified to assist in emergencies.  

Passengers must inform us in advance if they require special assistance.

Auggie Medical Transportation reserves the right to refuse service if passenger safety cannot be reasonably maintained.

7. Service Limitations

Auggie Medical Transportation provides non-emergency medical transportation only.

Our services include rides to:

Medical appointments

Dialysis visits

Therapy appointments

Dental and optometry visits

Social outings

Airport transportation

Assisted living or care facility transport.  

We do not provide emergency medical transport. If an emergency occurs, please call 911 immediately.

8. Passenger Conduct Policy

To ensure a safe and respectful environment:

Passengers must not:

Smoke or vape inside vehicles

Use illegal substances

Engage in abusive or threatening behavior

Damage vehicles or equipment

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in refusal of service.

9. Privacy Policy

Auggie Medical Transportation respects the privacy of all passengers.

Personal information collected during booking is used only for scheduling and providing transportation services.

Customer information will never be sold or shared with third parties unless required by law.

10. Liability Disclaimer

While Auggie Medical Transportation strives to provide safe and reliable service, we cannot guarantee travel times due to traffic, weather, or other external conditions. We are not responsible for missed appointments caused by circumstances beyond our control.

Agreement to Use Services

By booking or using services from Auggie Medical Transportation, passengers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to the policies outlined on this page.

These policies are designed to ensure safe, reliable, and professional transportation services for all passengers.

Non-Emergency Transportation Disclaimer

Auggie Medical Transportation provides Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services only.

Our drivers are not medical professionals and are not authorized to provide medical treatment.

If a passenger experiences a medical emergency, emergency services should be contacted immediately by dialing 911.

Liability Waiver

By using Auggie Medical Transportation services, passengers acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Transportation involves inherent risks associated with vehicle travel.

• Auggie Medical Transportation is not responsible for injuries resulting from circumstances outside reasonable operational control.

• Passengers agree to follow all driver instructions related to safety and securement during transport.

Passengers assume responsibility for personal belongings during transportation.

Auggie Medical Transportation is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.

Wheelchair Securement & Safety Policy

Passenger safety is our highest priority.

All wheelchairs and mobility devices must be properly secured before the vehicle begins transportation.

Drivers are trained to safely secure mobility devices using approved safety restraints.

Passengers who refuse wheelchair securement or safety procedures may be required to sign a safety acknowledgment and assume responsibility for any resulting risk.

If securement cannot be safely performed, transportation may be declined for safety reasons.

Booking & Deposit Policy

To schedule transportation services:

• Rides must be booked in advance through our website or by contacting our office.

• A $20 deposit is required to reserve transportation.

• Booking confirmation will be sent once the reservation is accepted.

Same-day transportation may be available depending on scheduling and driver availability.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans may change.

• Cancellations made at least 24 hours before pickup will receive a full deposit refund.

• Cancellations made within 24 hours of pickup will result in the deposit being non-refundable.

• If Auggie Medical Transportation cancels a ride due to operational issues, the deposit will be refunded or applied to a future trip.

Driver Wait Time Policy

Drivers will wait up to 10 minutes at the scheduled pickup location.

If the passenger is not present within that time window:

• The ride may be marked as a no-show

• The deposit may be forfeited

Extended waiting time may be available depending on scheduling but may involve additional charges.

Passenger Conduct Policy

To ensure a safe and respectful environment:

Passengers may not:

• Smoke or vape inside the vehicle

• Use illegal substances

• Engage in threatening or abusive behavior

• Damage vehicle equipment

Auggie Medical Transportation reserves the right to refuse or terminate service if passenger behavior compromises safety.

Caregiver & Escort Policy

Passengers who require additional support may bring one caregiver or escort rider.

Escort riders must:

• Be listed at the time of booking

• Follow vehicle safety guidelines

• Respect driver instructions

Drivers may assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles but cannot provide medical care or lifting assistance beyond safe mobility support.

Service Animal & Medical Equipment Policy

Passengers traveling with service animals or medical equipment are welcome.

Passengers should inform us in advance if traveling with:

• Wheelchairs

• Walkers

• Oxygen equipment

• Service animals

• Mobility aids

This allows us to prepare the appropriate vehicle and equipment for safe transport.

Privacy & Confidentiality Commitment

Auggie Medical Transportation respects passenger privacy and handles personal information responsibly.

Information collected during booking may include:

• Contact information

• Pickup and destination addresses

• Appointment times

• Mobility or accessibility needs

This information is used only for transportation scheduling and service delivery.

Passenger information will never be sold or shared for marketing purposes.

HIPAA-Style Privacy Commitment

Although Auggie Medical Transportation is not a healthcare provider, we follow privacy practices consistent with healthcare confidentiality standards.

Passenger information is treated with discretion and only shared:

• With passenger permission

• With authorized caregivers

• When required by law

• When necessary to protect passenger safety

Our staff and drivers are expected to maintain strict confidentiality regarding passenger information and appointments.

Service Area Policy

Transportation services are available within our standard service region.

Trips outside this area may be available depending on distance and scheduling and may include additional mileage fees.

Weather & Safety Conditions

Safety is our priority.

Transportation services may be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled due to:

• Severe weather

• Road closures

• Hazardous driving conditions

• Unforeseen operational issues

Passengers will be notified as soon as possible if scheduling adjustments are necessary.

Facility Transportation Agreements

Auggie Medical Transportation works with:

• Dialysis centers

• Hospitals

• Assisted living facilities

• Rehabilitation centers

• Private caregivers

Facilities interested in establishing transportation partnerships may contact us to arrange recurring transportation scheduling or service agreements.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Auggie Medical Transportation shall not be liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from transportation delays, cancellations, or circumstances beyond reasonable operational control.
